National School Counseling/Mental Health Week is almost here.  During the week of February 2-6, 2009, we hope you will join us in recognizing all that counselors do in our schools and communities. Don’t forget to Thank Your Counselor!

In order to raise money for the Alachua County Public School Foundation Scholarship, ACCA is raising money by hosting    Dear Dakota, Gainesville’s hottest band and local middle and high schools. Their electric music and positive messages will be a great motivation to Alachua County students as they take on their FCAT exams. See our community action page for more information.

If you would like to donate to our scholarship fund, please email Anne Flenner at flenneal@gm.sbac.edu.

Our holiday social at Stonewood Bar and Grill last night was a huge success. We had a cozy private room, great food and even better company! I'm so glad so many could come. We had new faces and old favorites proving that ACCA is still going strong. We hope all of you have a safe holiday season and a happy new year!

A huge thanks to all those who attended the FCA Convention in Daytona Beach! ACCA had a great showing as about 10 of our members went to the convention titled, "Ride the Wave of Change".

Great job to FCA President and ACCA member Karen Pearson for running such an informative conference.

Our own members, James Porter, Bill Goodman,  Anne Flenner and past president Kristie Chattey all presented at the conference.

An enjoyable sushi dinner commenced on the Saturday night as we all had some much needed down time.

We hope you will join us next year for the 60th Annual FCA Conference. Be on the look out for pics soon!
